How it works
Air distribution and insulation in one construction.
Pre-insulated ductwork combines air distribution and thermal insulation within a single lightweight panel system. Unlike conventional GI ductwork, which requires a separate insulation stage, the insulation is already built into the duct panel.
Each duct section is fabricated from rigid PIR panels faced on both sides with aluminium. The panels are cut, grooved, folded and sealed to form the required duct dimensions and fittings.

Panels are measured and cut
The PIR panels are measured, cut and grooved according to the approved duct dimensions and project drawings.

Duct sections are formed
The prepared panels are folded and assembled to create straight ducts, bends, transitions and other required fittings.

Joints are sealed
Profiles, connectors, adhesive, sealant and aluminium tape are used to join the sections and provide a secure, well-sealed duct system.

The ductwork is installed
The completed sections are suspended and connected to the ACMV equipment to distribute supply, return or fresh air throughout the building.

Kingspan PIRALU
A lightweight pre-insulated duct system with a PIR core density of 35 kg/m³, featuring antimicrobial-treated foil surfaces, designed for internal ACMV air distribution.

Both systems use aluminium-faced rigid PIR panels, but the final selection should be based on the required thermal performance, installation conditions, certification requirements and project specifications.
